Before you buy

A riser is the right height when the top of the screen is at or just below eye level with your head straight. Measure from your desk to your eye line sitting up properly, subtract the height of your screen above its own stand, and that is the riser height you need. We name materials properly. Solid oak and walnut are solid, not veneered, unless the listing says veneer. Vegan leather is polyurethane on a fabric backing, which wears well and is not leather. Full grain leather is the top layer of the hide and will patina; corrected grain will not. Felt is pressed from recycled PET bottles unless it says wool. Steel is powder coated, and brass is solid brass that will darken unless you polish it. Anything that clamps or screws to a desk states the desk thickness it fits and whether it needs a screw fixing. Adhesive fixings are 3M backed and will lift a laminate finish if you remove them hot, so warm them gently and peel slowly.
