Before you buy

We name materials properly. Solid oak and walnut are solid, not veneered, unless the listing says veneer. Vegan leather is polyurethane on a fabric backing, which wears well and is not leather. Full grain leather is the top layer of the hide and will patina; corrected grain will not. Felt is pressed from recycled PET bottles unless it says wool. Steel is powder coated, and brass is solid brass that will darken unless you polish it. All our timber is finished with a hard wax oil rather than a lacquer, so a scratch can be sanded and re oiled at home instead of being permanent.

Which option to buy

Unbranded is plain, with no engraving. We select desk things that look like they belong in a room rather than in a stationery cupboard. Every listing gives the real dimensions, the actual material and the tested capacity, and where something is a coated fabric rather than leather or a laminate rather than solid wood, the listing says so in those words.
